Pascalstraße Initiative shows social responsibility with joint Campaign for Blood Donation
In cooperation with 'Deutsches Rotes Kreuz' (German Red Cross), the Pascalstraße Initiative is holding a blood donation campaign for the employees on Thursday, 28 September 2023. The motto of the event is "Blood donation saves lives". It will take place between 10.00 a.m. and 02.00 p.m. at the premises of DSA Daten- und Systemtechnik GmbH at Pascalstraße 26. All employees of the companies located in the Pascalstraße business park are invited to donate their blood for the good cause.
With this campaign, the companies in Pascalstraße are once again showing a clear commitment towards society and social engagement. "The Corona vaccination campaign at the peak of the pandemic in 2021 showed how strong the Pascalstraße community is when it comes to taking social responsibility for our employees and their families. With the blood donation campaign, we want to set an example once again and help to save lives," says Dr Thomas Huth, Managing Director of DSA Daten- und Systemtechnik GmbH, speaking on behalf of the initiative. "With the invitation to the employees of the participating companies to donate blood, we are now undertaking another joint initiative."
Through centralization and joint organization, the participating companies hope for a maximum response and participation in the campaign. In order to reach the target of at least 150 blood donations, the process has been made as simple as possible. The employees of the local companies have already received an invitation with all the important information and the link to register. For refreshments after the blood donation, the Kisters AG, also located in Pascalstraße, will provide catering.
Only between three and five percent of the population currently donate blood. That is not enough to be well-prepared for emergency situations and in phases of low donations. After all, there is still no alternative to life-saving blood donation. Despite modern methods that enable blood-saving operations, sufficient blood donations are essential to save lives.
The organizers of the campaign hope for a wide media response to inspire other companies and associations to organize similar campaigns.

The Pascalstraßen Initiative in the city region of Aachen is an association of 68 companies. While some of the companies operate in different sectors, the common focus is on IT and software. The industrial zone Pascalstraße is the location with the highest density of IT companies in Aachen and the surrounding area. The members of the initiative jointly set themselves the task of advancing the region and getting people excited about the location's potential. The focus is on topics related to digitalization, which are part of the daily work of the companies in Pascalstraße.
