For sustainable mobility of the future - DSA drives Battery Life Cycle Management forward

At the end of October 2022, DSA's battery experts participated in two important industry events. Electromobility is the key to sustainable mobility of the future and thus a driving factor for development in the automotive industry. The focus of development is on the safe and long-lasting operation of high-voltage batteries as the most important components of electric vehicles. The basis to this is the safe testing of batteries and sustainable battery life cycle management.

Plug&Test Lab at joint customer day with Weiss Technik

At a joint customer day, DSA and Weiss Technik GmbH presented a test lab for high-voltage energy carriers in a compact 40' container. The mobile test container, designed as a complete Plug&Test system, is suitable for expanding existing test capacities. For example, as a replacement for test systems that have broken down at short notice or as a cost-effective set-up for new test locations. In the walk-in container, visitors were able to get to know DSA's automation solution. They were given an insight into the operation of the laboratory via the automation system as well as into the safety concept and the concept for contacting the high-voltage batteries.

Almost at the same time, DSA was also represented as a premium partner at the 10th Electromobility Production Days (EPT) in Aachen. In a cross-industry exchange, representatives of the manufacturing industry, the science and the user side discussed current trends for the electromobility of tomorrow. At the event initiated by the Department of Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components (PEM) at RWTH Aachen University, the experts from DSA presented innovations from the field of battery testing.

In order to further develop the still young technologies successfully, it is necessary to find answers to the questions of what should happen to a battery after its use in an electric vehicle and what the capacity, range and safety of e-mobility batteries are like. The focus for DSA is on battery life cycle management and in particular on manual and automated test solutions for battery cells, modules, and packs.
