Smart Diagnostics Grid - The intelligent circulating Test System for Automotive Production

The new DSA circulating test system Smart Diagnostics Grid was one of the many highlights at our booth at this year’s testing expo in Stuttgart.

The circulating test system Smart Diagnostics Grid enables the permanent online connection of vehicles throughout the entire configuration and diagnostics process, thus increasing transparency and efficiency in automotive production.

With the DSA circulating adapters Lean Diagnostics Edge and Smart Diagnostics Edge, it is possible to integrate the vehicle into the existing plant IT. The adapters remain plugged into the vehicle over several production cycles and establish a continuous WLAN communication with the test computer. While the Lean Diagnostics Edge (e.g. DSA WDI-2X) is connected to the component for sequence execution via Wi-Fi and the sequence execution is running on a related hardware computer at the line or on a computer center on a virtualized tester, the circulating tester Smart Diagnostics Edge (e.g. DSA smartMDI) can autonomously run test procedures.

The Smart Diagnostics Grid enables the more flexible distribution of diagnostic scopes and their continuous monitoring throughout the entire production process of the vehicle in the assembly plants.

PRODIS.PlantHUB is the central control logic for monitoring and controlling the circulating test system.
