After the Archaeological Showcase and the Kaiser-Friedrich-Park, managing director Dr. Eckhard Schulz tackled the next sponsoring project at the beginning of this year with the garden monument Kaiser-Friedrich-Allee. The green corridor between Kaiser-Friedrich-Park and Brüsseler Ring no longer appeared how garden director Weßberge planned the connection between city and forest in the 1920s: Instead of a “varied valley basin”, joggers and walkers passed dense undergrowth and also the course of the stream was little or no longer visible.
Thanks to the donation of Dr. Eckhard Schulz, the garden monument could be returned to its original state. The DSA employees, who regularly use the track for running activities, are also happy about this. So, the paths are laid out with a complex water-bound cover and the 1 km-long running track is now provided with distance markings. And the rest of the green corridor is also impressive: The Triton Fountain was cleaned from garbage and maintained, the areas of the green corridor were cleared and a flower meadow was laid out. Newly planted oak trees re-establish the avenue character.
