At the beginning of February, the fourth Kids' Day took place at DSA. Our employees’ kids starting from the 5th grade were invited to get to know our job descriptions and to get an insight into their parents' every day work life. With an exciting program, we were able to spark kids’ interest for technology and especially for programming.
While one of the two groups integrated own game content, such as walls etc., into the open-world game "Minecraft" by means of plug-ins, other technology newbies taught the programmable LEGO-NXT robot how to independently perform various tasks on a large game board. For example, the robot should place a bridge over the river. Here, the first task was to build a suitable construction of Lego bricks with which the robot can move the bridge, and then to program it respectively using a simple language.
