ECU Flash Station EFS

Whether you want to program one or a large number of control units simultaneously outside the vehicle - our developers will work with you to plan the perfect solution for your application.

The “brains” of our ECU Flash Stations EFS are normally testers like MFT or MTS, which are also used to test and program ECUs inside vehicles or vehicle modules.

This is complemented by a set of tailor-made adaption modules that exactly match your ECUs. Those can be - according to requirements - some cables with different connectors or slots in a custom-built housing.

Data volumes for programming control units in the vehicle are growing steadily. As a result, cycle times in production can often no longer be met. The EFS enables efficient off-line programming of your ECUs and modules.

Benefits

  • Optimized programming times through parallelization of flash sequences
  • Full integration into existing IT infrastructure
  • Support of different bus systems like CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, DoIP, FlexRay
  • Customer-specific adaptation to the geometric requirements of the control units

Use cases

The EFS Station can be used to support different use cases:

  • Just In Time / Sequenced flashing of ECUs: As the EFS is connected to the PRODIS.System, it can be used in the production line to prepare the ECUs for upcoming vehicles on the fly.
  • Kit Building: The EFS can be used to program in parallel several ECUs belonging to the same vehicle, which are later delivered as a kit to the production line.
  • Batch Programming: For logistic applications, it is also possible to update the software of many ECUs in parallel without a direct connection to a vehicle.

Applications

  • Flash Programming and Coding in Production
