The latest version of DSA's diagnostic tools, MDI-G, has been designed and introduced for operation in production plants and repair shops.

The MDI-G has a robust and compact housing with rubber cover which is offered with a customer-specific branding by request. There is a wide variety of possibilities to connect to the controlling computer by means of the following interfaces:

• 100BaseT Ethernet
• High Speed USB 2.0 (galvanically separated)
• WLAN (IEEE802.11b/g)
• Bluetooth (2.0EDR)

The integrated multiplexer for vehicle interfaces allows for the operation on a wide range of vehicle models without the need for replacing the cables. The CAN transceiver (High Speed PHY according to ISO11898-2, Low Speed PHY according to ISO 11898-3, Single Wire PHY according to SAE/J2411) can be chosen by software. Thereby up to 4 CAN bus lines and 4 K lines can be operated in parallel.

With regard to future developments the MDI-G is equipped with a slot for an extension board with further vehicle interfaces.
