DSA test devices like the Multi-Function Tester MFT are used in many different fields. But up to now the electrical test of vehicle modules like e.g. cockpit and door has been reserved only for the Module Test System MTS as the modules have to be supplied with power for such a test. For pure diagnostic tests with an MFT or another WLAN-capable test device we developed the RCPS2.

The RCPS2 is equipped with a WLAN module, which is controlled by test sequences running on the MFT. So the main relay can be switched on and off, the overcurrent threshold can be adjusted and the overcurrent state requested, the temperature can be monitored and voltage and total current can be measured.

Several safety mechanisms protect the user and the module to be tested: If WLAN communication fails, the voltage can be switched off and on independent of superordinate systems by means of an additional cable remote control. Beyond that it is possible to connect an adaptation recognition. In event of short-circuit the automatic overcurrent shutdown is activated.

The RCPS2 opens up new fields of application for WLAN-capable DSA test devices like the MFT. In combination with the RCPS2 they can now be used for diagnosis of vehicle modules.
